What was moment you realized you wanted to be a filmmaker?

 .

I started as an actress.  On set of the film All Good Things I had a lot of downtime- I distinctly remember one day being totally drawn into what was happening on the other side of the camera. Soon after I applied to AFI's Directing Workshop for Women and things moved quickly from there.

 .

When did you first feel like a director?

 .

On the set of Some Boys Don't Leave- sitting in the chair in a sweaty tank top with crazy headset hair just loving every second of being on THAT SIDE.

 .

 .

How has being a part of the Film Fatale's community helped you?

 .

I've been thinking about it a lot of late actually- I just feel so much more buoyed up by this posse of rad and amazing women.  I feel challenged and supported.  I know I can always find an answer to any question within seconds of sending an email or posting it. I am 100% positive that so many more people are aware of me and my work and along those same lines I am extremely well versed in who is doing what out there in the female filmmaker landscape.

 .

 .

  What is your favorite movie?

 .

The Hunger.  Catherine Deneuve and David Bowie. Sexy vampire aging movie before it's time.

 .

 .

What is your favorite bad movie/guilty pleasure?

 .

Roadhouse
