A Cure For Your Bitch Face
Do people ask you what's wrong when you're feeling perfectly fine? You may be one of the millions who suffer from Bitchy Resting Face, Hostile Listening Face, or another related disease of the female visage. Women are most commonly affected, since nobody seems to mind what kind of looks men have on their faces. If you'd like to spare the world the inadvertent bummer of you, this product could help.

I *was* going to say I totally have bitchy resting face, but that probably because I am 54, have lupus, chronic migraines and am in pain somewhere in my body at pretty much any given moment. I’m still a nice, totally engaging person when talking to anyone, but this so-called “bitchy”/in pain face makes me appear unpleasant unless I make a conscious effort to walk through life smiling a fake smile. Have you noticed that people never say anything like that about men, though. They never get called “bitchy.” No, they get respectable descriptive phrases, like being “serious looking” or being in “deep concentration.” Well, sometimes, to be fair, sometimes they get called mean or badass. Which I still think is far better than bitchy. Why is it women are automatically ascribed the term bitchy? Why do we not only accept it but agree with it? I DISAGREE with it. I think we need to keep disagreeing with it. Think about its origin. It’s agreeing that we are dogs. I refuse to agree to that. ALL women should refuse to agree to such defamation. It is derived in misogyny and needs to die with misogyny.
It only took four comments to somehow make this a race issue, new record! (@WindyCityBro Maybe you just got ugly since you were a teenager..)
FINALLY, I know that I am not alone!
@windy – I’d just assume you’d stolen a brand new car and continue on with my day. No suspicion here.
@WindyCityBro,
So true.
I’m a guy and I used to get that as a teenager all the time. But as an adult nobody thinks twice about a black man frowning. They are more suspicious now when I’m happy. “What are you smiling about?”
