Remember those 3D models that showed how Barbie would compare to the average woman's proportions? After those photos went viral, designer Nikolai Lamm was besieged with emails from parents who wanted to buy the doll for their daughters. Enter Lammily, an actual real-world doll made from those models. For a mere $17, you can help crowdfund the production and get your own early-bird edition of Lammily, dressed as a mom picking up from basketball practice after running errands on a Saturday afternoon.
I am 100% into the idea of a doll that looks like a normal person, but they are going to have to get some more exciting fashion options going pronto if they want this to appeal to girls as well as their esteem-obsessed parents. And I get that he wanted to name the doll after himself, but my autocorrect did want to change Lammily to "lamely".
I'll still buy one. Just sayin'.
