Cliteracy
[dirty alert]
I read an article in a medical journal about a decade ago revealing the actual size and shape of the clitoris, and it was way different than what I'd seen in books before. If science has been underestimating the power of the clit, is it any wonder the rest of the world does? Artist Sophia Wallace has made it her mission to raise the profile of the less-little-than-we-thought organ of female pleasure, so that maybe one day, we can talk about the clit the way we talk about the peen.

I agree, any word can be positive if it’s coming from a positive place. I really just find it insane that it has taken this long for us to gain an anatomical understanding of the organ responsible for female pleasure. I guess it makes sense in the context of the culture, but it’s still maddening. And the fact that there’s been so little done to communicate what science has learned is equally maddening. Are we really still not comfortable talking about this? If we don’t talk about it, we’ll never get comfortable with it.
I love this. I also like the “bad” words for female genitalia. I guess I am of the school of thought that says reclaim derogatory language. It depends on who, how, and what is behind what is being said. Thanks for Wifey and all this positive stuff.
