Dawn: Portrait of a Teenage Hooker
Actually, it was for-real called Dawn: Portrait of a Teenage Runaway, yet in my mind it was called Dawn: Portrait of a Teenage Prostitute. Today, Wifey's calling it Portrait of a Teenage Hooker because 'hooker' is the best sex worker word out there. What makes this obsessively delightful? Well, it was Jan Motha Effin Brady in a rabbit fur jacket marauding on a street corner. Secondly, it had some of the best writing ever, aka: maybe the first use of the phrase "hold me", and then at around 4:00, the gorgeous: "You hate me now?" "No, it's much worse than that. I love you." Oh, Swan the pimp, all the memories! I wish I could program a whole festival around this film. Who would come?

OMG, I loved this movie! Don’t forget, there was a sequel, called “Alexander, the other side of Dawn”, about Dawn’s boyfriend (??) becoming a male prostitute.
Oh, the 70s, when Linda Blair starred in a movie about girls in prison (I think it was called ‘Sweet’ something) and my parents absolutely did not care what I watched on TV….
