Jennifer Lawrence Is Here To Save Us From Ourselves
Here's Jennifer Lawrence calling out the culture of meanness on Barbara Walters, asking "Why is humiliating people funny?" and suggesting that calling people fat on TV should be a crime. There may be some problems with this from an implementation and free speech perspective, but damn is it great to have a Hollywood mouthpiece who isn't afraid to talk about the destructive forces in the media. Preach, J.Law. People are listening.

The Feminist Cupcake’s blog is about fat oppression and her points that using the word “fat” as a descriptor is something we should reclaim.
There is almost nothing about this young lady and her public persona that isn’t breathtaking and refreshing. She seems like she is speaking off the cuff and from the heart, but she is able to engage the very Hollywood publicity machine in which she lives. And she does so in a manner that is almost always thoughtful and funny. Big giant love out to her. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLKZb1wLmAY
