I read about your search for a trans screenwriter to work on the second season of TRANSPARENT and got very excited — because I am one. I tried posting on your Facebook page, but I’m now thinking you’re not on there that often. Unfortunately, my manager is in ill health and is in the hospital right now, so I can’t approach you through your rep.
I’ve been writing for 18 years, have written a couple dozen features and pilots, have had one feature produced and another project in development at Showtime. My pilot LA FEMME ACCIDENT, written when I was working at New line ten years ago, won a few awards and got a lot of attention (had a staged reading at the Lee Strasberg Theater), but it ended up being deemed ‘too ahead of its time.’ Part of the reason for that, besides the obvious, is because it was about my transitioning at age 23 in NYC during the wild, punk rock/drug-fueled early 80’s. I was young, hot, happy and having a ball. No sturm and drag about the transition — apart from my parents’ reaction, of course. My friends and I affectionately dubbed the project ‘The Tranny Tyler Moore Show.’
Please contact me via email at parker.carole@gmail.com — or by phone @ 310/560-5861. I’d be thrilled to work for you and your gang. I’ve got tons of stories to share. I transitioned at 23 and am now 58. Pretty fucking cool, huh?
