The Tweets We Leave Behind
Amanda was a young woman working a desk job in Ottawa, tweeting about day to day minutae. Then everything changed. Writer Shannon McKarney became acquainted with Amanda on Twitter and made this video compilation as a tribute to her too-short life. Watching the archive of her observations turn from mundane to tragic is chilling. And feels a little weird. We chronicle our lives with quips. But we're also leaving legacies. Grab some tissues, and make yourself some promises.
CHATTER
So so beautiful! Thx to the maker of this for sharing it with us. The music really brought out the message. You only realize you’re high until you’re feeling low. How true. And how to feel grateful for what we have?
Amanda you…..ROCKED
I was expecting comedy, now I’m sad.
@ Steven…yeah, I suspect you missed a lot. Sad, so sad. It could be any of us…it could be all of us. Live your lives!
This is a video. I’m assuming a written article would have worked fine and been infinitely more accessible. I guess I’m missing out, but probably not.
we know of EIGHT people with brain cancer EIGHT!!!… PLEASE please use your ear phones with cell phones…..please
Lost my Mom 44 yrs ago. My only is daughter 43, she stopped calling me last week angry. Yesterday she told it was because she was keeping the negativity out of her life…my 3 yr old bby girl calls me everyday but her Mom won’t let her. I’m ready to break but …I just pray she gets it before it’s too late.
Amazing….amazing….amazing. Was not expecting that to touch me the way it did. That may be life changing.
Made me think of ‘Y Tu Mama Tambien’…
My half-sister died of brain cancer. I was unable to see her before she left this world, made me think of her. Touching story.
I asked myself after my mom and my sister were both diagnosed with rectal cancer within 6 months of each other: how do I want to spend my life. My answer: caring for the people I love.
I wish I knew her. How crushing. How beautiful and fragile life is, for all of us.
